HISTORY

When the Spaniards arrived on the east coast of the peninsula in 1567. The southern tip most of the

largest island of Luzon in the Philippines, they were greeted by the smiling faces of the people localfishing

village. One Spaniard asked: “Como se lla este sitio?” spanning his hand across the land where thousands of white flowers bloomed under the coconut trees lining  up the shoreline. The natives smiling proudly, extending out their arms showing off what makes their village so bright: “Bacongon!”. The Spaniard continued to span  his hand across the beach to the last cove towardsthe east to ask if there was more land after, the natives, pointing to the golden sun rise  “Sirangan!”. To this date, the flower of Bacongon brighten the fishing village.

Sirangan Beach Resort is located in the Bacon District of Sorsogon City, 14 kilometers from the city center. It is accessible by land transport from Manila by the 12-hr Southroad drive, or by commercial plane, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific 45 minute flight landing in Legazpi City and a 45 minute airport transfer drive to Sorsogon or by chartered flights up to 19 seater planes to land in Bacon Airport, 5 minutes from the resort.

Sorsogon is a Philippines province located at the south from the Bicol region, at the Luzon island south. Its capital is Sorsogon Ckity. North is the Albay province. Sorsogon at the forefront of the Bicol peninsula and facing the Samar Island in the south strait farther Santto Bernardino.
